Netcool: probes nco_p_rm
It is possible to retrieve alarms from the Alcatel SDH Network Management product the 1354RM.
Thus it is possible to combine & de-duplicate the alarms of several Regional managers onto one netcool server.
By using this probe, you do not need to install the I.O.O.-interface on the RM. Concequently one does NOT need the Micromuse's I.O.O.-probe.

Working
This probe extracts information from the 1330AS, part of the 1354RM SDH-Region Manager.
As each alarm arrives, it is pass through the Alarm Survailance trace file.
While it guards the file's I-Node, it reads the file and passes all the information using nco_sql.
In contrast with nco_p_as this probe retrievs additional information from the RM's Oracle database.
The alarms are presented in the same format as in the alarm survailance window. Major differencis are that (by de-duplication) only the latest alarm is presented, with its timestamp and Tally and that a number of extra fields are inserted.
For each event, this information is retrieved. Other option is to let impact insert this information afterwards.
database extensions
For PDH-path alarms following fields are needed:
- start node (name of ADM or TMX)
- end node
- start board
- end board
- start port
- end port
- customer (optionally)
- location (opyionally)
For eml-alarms, following fields are needed:
- the name of the SH, responsible for this EML-process
- the name of the RM, on top of this SH
